Celebrate the Small Things 6-5-16

This post is part of Lexa Cain's bloghop, Celebrate the Small Things. Head on over there to join up!

So what am I celebrating this week?
The A - Z Blogging Challenge is over!  It was fun, but writing posts every day, plus trying to visit at least 4 or 5 other blogs each day, plus writing and life in general made April very, very busy.  I love it, but glad it's over until next year.
I hit my 40K goal in Camp NaNo, so have a bunch of words to play with for my new book.  I messed up a little with this one and started too late in the story and wound up writing a whole lot more than I needed at the beginning of the book.  So rather than carrying on and going to fix it later, I've gone back to fix everything  I know I got wrong while I still remember what I was thinking.  Hopefully by the middle of next week I will have all that squared away and can get on with writing the rest of the book.
I'm aiming to have the draft done by the second week of June.  Hold me to that, will you?  Although if I get notes from my agent on My Murder Year, that timing will go down the drain because I'll have to work on that instead of finishing this new book.
Looking forward to the weekend.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks at work, but I think things will settle down from here for at least two or three weeks.
What are you celebrating this week?

  3. Congrats on the 40k and winning Camp NaNo! I would have gone back to fix the things I knew I got wrong while it was still fresh in my brain, too.

    Happy drafting, and possible revising!

  4. I'm glad you had success in Camp NaNo. I haven't ever finished the NaNo, I need more structure and so I'm doing the Snowflake method on a work-in-progress at the moment.
I did the A to Z as well, though I missed some days. Helped me get back into the blogging habit.

  5. For the sake of your sanity, I hope Jackie gets MMY edit notes to you after you finish this present WIP, 'coz once you start on edits, everything else gets forgotten and you get tunnel vision! lol

  6. Kate, congrats on crossing the A2Z blog challenge finish line! *applauds* It's a handful, isn't it? The alphabet caught up with me, which threw me behind and now I'm playing catch up. It was loads of fun while it lasted, but I'm happy to get back to a normal routine again. Best of luck to reaching your June goals. I'm trying to figure out a few things mentally to put in action, but this may take some time. I'm excited about the possibilities floating around in my head. Have a good weekend, my friend!
