Celebrate the Small Things

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. Head on over there to join up!
So, what am I celebrating this week?

I'm celebrating no more earthquakes!  While we had a few good sized after-shocks last weekend, this week has been fairly stable and people are beginning to come back into town to see films again.

The blocked drain at my house has been repaired and the bill was much smaller than I expected (thank goodness...  I've been lying awake nights worrying about it and not calling the repairman because I was too scared to).

I'm at 37K on my WIP, but have no idea where to go from here to reach my next plot point, so I've been writing up ideas for my next two books, numbers 11 and 12.

I've been sending out queries for STUMPED, and so far none of the rejections have made me cry....  But give it time.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. No more quakes, are you here in New Zealand? It's a good thing to be celebrating.

  2. The lack of earth quakes is more than celebration worthy. Rejection letters that make you cry are celebration worthy too, I'm hoping that next week you will be celebrating your acceptance letter. Here's to future celebrations.

  3. It is wonderful that there are no more earthquakes. Rejection letters will gradually lead to acceptance letters later on. Have a wonderful week ahead :)

  4. Plumbing bills are the pits! Glad it wasn't astronomical. And I'm at 20K on my wip and wondering where to go next, so I understand. But books 11 and 12, WOW! Wonderful!!

  6. Sounds like you have a lot to celebrate! My kiddos are back in school and I found a doctor who can help my daughter's vision improve. Those are my celebrations this week.

  7. I hate worrying about things that need doing because of money, it's awful! Glad you got it done for less than you were expecting :)
    Good luck with your queries!

  8. I'm so pleased you've had no more earthquakes, small plumbing bills, and have gotten up to 37k - that's great!

All of us hit stumbling blocks in our WIPs. You have the right approach - do other things until you figure out a solution. Good luck! :-)

  9. Having ideas for books after completing nine already is a darned good reason to celebrate! Can't wait 'til I get that far. Sorry to hear about the earthquakes, I know how scary that could be, especially sometimes the aftershocks.

May you get a fabulous contract soon, and may that be a lesson to not stay up all night worrying. (saidby someone who's had her fair share of sleepless nights!)

  10. So happy that the earthquakes have stopped. They must be so frightening. And congrats on all of that writing!
    Happy weekend.
