I'm five days into NaNo and feeling pretty good about my progress. At the end of yesterday I was sitting on 12,007 words written which is a good start. Especially since I changed book ideas after the first two days.
So my goal this week is to keep up the momentum. I have to go away for work over the weekend, so I will lose at least one writing session then, but I'm hoping to keep to around 2K per day the rest of the week so that one day won't matter.
And the most important thing is, I'm enjoying my book. I'm back in a world I know and love (music and musicians) and I'm having fun with my characters. I even managed to throw in a little cameo from a character in one of my other books (The Sidewalk's Regrets), so that was fun.
So here's to getting to 24K by this time next week.
What are your goals this week?
2K per day is pretty impressive. Well done. Keep up the good pace. Meanwhile, I'm glad you are enjoying it. And how fun to pull in a character from one of your other books. Madeleine L'Engle used to do that. You are in good company.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! 2k is an impressive word count for a day.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an impressive word count. You're definitely on track. I'm glad you're enjoying it. That will help you keep going.
