Celebrate the Small Things: 2-6-17

This post is part of Lexa Cain's bloghop, Celebrate the Small Things. Head on over there to join up!

So what am I celebrating this week?

Long weekend!

Yes, it's the Queen's Birthday weekend here (not actually the Queen's Birthday - we just celebrate it this weekend here.  Next week Australia does. And Canada has another date they celebrate it) so 3-day weekend.

My best friend is down from Auckland and we're having dinner tonight.  Really looking forward to seeing her.  We've talked, but I haven't seen her since November.

What are you celebrating this week?

  2. Hmm, what am I celebrating? Well, catching up on my reading? Yeah, that sounds good. Oh, and my childhood library. Visited it yesterday, and it expanded nicely since I last saw it, so that was nice.

  4. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have a queen in the U.S. Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Hmm...this reminds me of when I visited London many years ago and arrived on the day they were celebrating the Queen's birthday. My friends and I had no idea, so we missed the celebration/parade. What a missed opportunity!

I hope you enjoy your time with your friend! Sometimes I don't see my closest friends for years and we live within a 40 minute drive from each other. We text instead...

  7. Yay for a 3-day weekend! But what's this about the Queen's birthday being on different days? The woman's been Queen for like 70 years. That's plenty of time to get a birthday right -- or at least a birth-week. Have a great dinner with your friend!!
