Weekly Goals 1-2-16

I've been lazy, I'll admit it.  I have not been working as hard as I should have been on my revision.  But that changes today.  School starts back today and I finished watching Making a Murderer over the weekend, so no more excuses not to work.

I need to get back into the routine that worked so well for me last year, and this week is all about that.  If I don't knuckle down, I'm not going to meet my March 1 deadline...

My oldest son starts middle school today.  I thought he would want me to come with him, but he doesn't.  And my younger son doesn't want or need me to come with him when he starts on Wednesday.  They grow up so fast...

What are your goals this week?

  1. My goals are similar. I'll be working on a revision of a mystery novel my critique group commented on. Last week was spent getting all of the comments on one master copy, page by page to see what's in store for me, and I started doing a little research for the "pot holes."

  2. This coming week, I want to add significantly to my wordcount.

  3. I've gotten lazy about my revisions, too. I hit a bit of a stumbling block last week and never quite got back on track. So, my goal, like yours, is to get back to that more productive routine.

  4. I think you've been doing pretty well. It is summer after all. Now that the kids are back in school, it will probably be easier to get back to work. Good luck :)

  5. Sometimes I notice that I'm doing easier tasks first and putting off the harder ones. Butt-in-chair and deadlines, real and self-imposed, get me working.

  6. Middle school already? Next up is high school - uh oh! You're an amazingly fast writer and reviser, so I don't think you'll have any trouble getting stuff done (as opposed to the old tortoise over here...) Thanks for the advice on the cover poll. I'm taking it!
