Celebrate the Small Things 14-8-15

This post is part of  Lexa Cain's bloghop, Celebrate the Small Things (Lexa has just taken it over from VikLit who has hosted it for the last 2 years). Head on over there to join up!

So, what am I celebrating this week?

I'm getting closer and closer to the end of my book.  Things are not going the way I expected them to, but they are going.  I've crept over the 60K mark and figure I'll be done within another 10 days or so.  Yay!  It's a pretty dire, first drafty piece of garbage, but at least I'll have something to come back to when I've finished revising my other book.  Not to mention the other story idea I have hanging out in my head that I'm excited about.  It's chance to use some characters I love from an older book that never worked out and bring them into a new story that I hope will give them a chance to shine.

I discovered I've been doing my taxes wrong for years and got the last few years reassessed, resulting in a nice little bit of money being deposited into my bank account so I went on a little online shopping spree….  I love knowing I have packages in the mail. It makes coming home each night that much more exciting!

I have a busy weekend ahead of me after a busy week.  I'm wondering if I'll have time to get everything I need to do, done.  But I am going to get my hair cut which is long overdue and much needed.  My parents just got back from a trip to South America and I'm looking forward to seeing some photos from the Galapagos Islands and hearing about their adventures rafting down the Amazon.

What are you celebrating this week?

  2. Glad you got your taxes reassessed and had money to spend! Taxes are unnecessarily complicated, so mistakes are bound to happen. Congrats on reaching the end of your book! First drafts can be rough, but they're much better than no draft at all!
