Celebrate the Small Things 13-12-13

This post is part of VikLit's blog hop, Celebrate the Small Things. Head on over there to join up!

So, what am I celebrating this week?

My book is getting closer to publication.  This week I managed to get through my line - edits.  Now I only have to proof the galley, and then it's good to go!  Which is lucky since the book is supposed to be coming out on January 3rd.  That's really soon!

I'm beginning to feel like I have a handle on my new job.  I'm still learning new things every day, but I'm starting to feel like I belong there, and that I can do everything I need to be able to do.

I've made a very limited start to my Christmas shopping, but at least I've done something.  The kids are away with their grandparents this weekend, so I hope to get some more done tomorrow.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. Best of luck with the edits and Christmas shopping. It's a lovely (although stressful, I imagine) time for you guys with kiddies. And great that you have settled into a new job so well. That can be hard work in it self. X

  3. I got a big chunk of Christmas shopping done today, I'd barely started it. Glad you've started to settle in at work, I've just started in a new place and I'm starting to feel like I belong, too.

  7. Good luck with the Christmas shopping, it should be easier without the kids around. Publication is rolling along quickly, exciting and busy times.

  9. Congratulations on moving forward despite your busy schedule! I'm celebrating 1.) living at the beach in California, 2.) finding out my tooth does not have to be pulled--it's a sinus infection!, and 3.) having my YA horror story, Death House, get accepted for publishing (woo hoo!), and the release of my short story, "Christmas After All" in A Touch of Winter anthology. Happy Holidays!
