Celebrate the Small Things 4/3/16

This post is part of Lexa Cain's bloghop, Celebrate the Small Things. Head on over there to join up!

So what am I celebrating this week?

I think I finally figured out how to end my book!  I've written and rewritten the same two chapters about 7 times now, but I think I figured it out.  So I hope to finish this weekend.  And maybe I can even re-use some of the 20K I've written while trying to figure it out.  But probably not...

I've been reading slush for Write Club again this year (I think I can say that now because I'm done and have sent my votes in) and I've finished that.  Man, there are some good writers out there. I'm very humbled.  If you've entered, good luck!

I had a fantastic new idea for a book that I'm really excited about.  So in a fit of excitement and possibly misplaced enthusiasm, I signed up for Camp NaNo in April.  Is anyone else doing it?  If so, let me know and we can try and get a cabin together.  Last year I was in a cabin with total strangers and while it was okay, I think it would be more fun with people I at least kind of know.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. I haven't decided on Camp NaNoWriMo yet. I'd really love to do it, but I think I might still be in revision mode. I was in a cabin with total strangers, too, and yeah, it was fine. Being with people you at least kind of know could be more fun.

Congrats on figuring out how to end your book! That's such a great feeling!

  2. Wow, lots of news. Yay for figuring out the stubborn ending! Even bigger yay for finishing all that slush and not wanting to poke your eye out with a fork. Despite "possibly misplaced enthusiasm" I'm excited you have a shiny new idea, and I know you'll do great in April!

  4. Yay that's great! I hope actually writing it out goes well. And good luck with Camp NaNo. That should be a fun way to play with your shiny new idea.
