2012 reading

About this time last year, a lot of people were blogging about their resolution to read more books in 2012.  Some of them even gave a number of books they planned to read and were going to track them on Goodreads.  I don't use Goodreads, but I thought the numbers people cited were quite low and decided to keep tabs on how many books I read in 2012.

With one day left to go, I'm sitting on 128 books read.  And I doubt that will change because I've only just started both the Kindle book and the paper book I'm currently reading.  So 128.  And that's real, published books.  I'm not including the manuscripts I read in there.  Or the books I read to my kids.  It's just the books I read myself for fun.

Wanna see what I read?  I'll show you the list.  How'd you do for reading in 2012?  Achieve your goal?

  1. Congrats! I haven't counted how many I read, but since I work as an editor, I probably read just as many if not more manuscripts than published books. I want to try to read more new releases in 2013.

  4. I am AMAZED by your reading list from last year! I probably finish about 12 books a year, although I still consider myself an avid reader. Also, I consider author blogs and writing education part of my reading. I can't really set a specific reading goal because I never know what I can accomplish. I have a mild mental condition that sometimes makes reading comprehension difficult, even though I can read words as fast as anyone. The difficulty comes and goes. It's been pretty bad the past few months, because stress makes it worse. I still ALWAYS have to have a book with me, though! :)

  5. Impressive list! I never keep count, but I did read some very cool books this last year, including all 900+ pages of Justin Cronin's The Passage, which I loved.
