Some...I agree with all your reasons for reading on. Sometimes I'm not so impressed with the prose, but the character catches me or there are interesting mysteries hinted at. Mayb...I usually try to finish a book if I start it. Maybe I've been lucky but I think there is only a handful of times when I've been disappointed and wondered why I stuck it out to the end.
